Another case of food poisoning has been added to the series of incidents. It was determined that 5 people who visited the hospital in Niğde over the weekend fell ill after consuming cured beef.
While food poisoning incidents occurring one after another in Turkey create panic, a case has also emerged in Niğde.
It was determined that 5 individuals who presented to the hospital with various complaints over the weekend became ill after consuming pastirma. The cases are being evaluated under the suspicion of food poisoning, and it has been reported that the general condition of the patients is good.
STATEMENT FROM THE NIĞDE GOVERNORATE
In a statement from the Niğde Governorate, it was reported that on Sunday, November 16, a 53-year-old individual, O.K., presented to the hospital, and a 26-year-old individual, B.K., who presented on the same day, was placed under observation in the infection unit as a precaution. A 12-year-old individual, A.E.T., was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit for monitoring, and it was noted that the condition of 3 patients is stable.
The statement also mentioned that on Saturday, November 15, a 77-year-old individual, M.K., and a 57-year-old individual, C.U., presented to the hospital with similar complaints, and both citizens were discharged after evaluations, with their health conditions reported to be good.
COMMON POINT: PASTIRMA
It was stated that the incident is being investigated under the suspicion of food poisoning after it was determined that all individuals who presented to the hospital had consumed pastirma prior to their complaints. The governorate announced that there are no patients in serious condition and that the process is being closely monitored by health units.
INSPECTIONS HAVE BEGUN
Teams from the Niğde Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry have initiated inspections of food products and sales points deemed to be related to the incident. It was reported that samples were taken by the teams and necessary investigations have begun, with the process being carried out meticulously.
