In Istanbul's Fatih district, following suspicions of poisoning, the Böcek family was taken to the hospital. After the mother and two children, the family received the tragic news about the father as well. Servet Böcek, who was in intensive care, also passed away.
The Böcek family, who were staying at a hotel in Fatih, Istanbul, fell ill and were taken to the hospital. In the tragedy, mother Çiğdem Böcek and two children lost their lives, while the father was also treated in intensive care.

NEW DETAILS EMERGED
New details have emerged regarding the incident in the investigation conducted by the Homicide Bureau. It was determined that hours before the family was poisoned, a room on the ground floor of the hotel was treated to combat bedbugs. It is being considered that the substance containing 'aluminum phosphide' in the used pesticide may have reached the family's room through the ventilation in the bathroom and poisoned those inside.
IT WAS STATED THAT THERE IS NO ANTIDOTE
It was stated that the substance 'aluminum phosphide', which is especially used in the treatment of bedbugs and cockroaches, has no antidote. The drug, which is most commonly used in agriculture and residences under the name 'pesticide', is a very potent poison, and it was expressed that excessive inhalation could easily lead to death. It was determined that the employee of the pest control company among the suspects had no certification regarding this matter.

It is stated that the substance aluminum phosphide, which is especially used in the treatment of bedbugs and cockroaches, is extremely toxic in case of misuse.
The drug, which is most commonly used in agriculture and residences under the name pesticide, is a very potent poison, and it was expressed that excessive inhalation could easily lead to death.
It was determined that the employee of the pest control company among the suspects had no certification regarding this matter.
Under normal conditions, this chemical should be used by trained individuals, with the environment being quarantined, and precautions taken against gas accumulation.
2 PEOPLE DIED IN A SIMILAR INCIDENT IN ANKARA
On the other hand, in a similar incident that occurred two years ago in Ankara, two people died in an apartment where the same substance was used for pest control, and 13 others were affected. Türkan and Elip Sude Sabancılar, who were taken to the hospital at that time, suspected of food poisoning, were initially discharged, but after their conditions worsened, they passed away in the hospital where they were readmitted.
