In Ankara, furniture maker Enishan Taştanoğlu (22) was injured when he intervened in a dispute between two groups in traffic and tried to separate them, and one of the parties hit him with a car. Following the incident, which was captured on security cameras, the unidentified suspect driver is being sought.

A person in Ankara regretted wanting to intervene in a fight that occurred in traffic. The incident took place on the night of November 9 on Piri Reis Street in the Çankaya district. Enishan Taştanoğlu stopped his vehicle upon seeing two groups arguing in traffic and intervened to separate the parties.

HE REGRETTED WANTING TO INTERVENE IN THE FIGHT

After the argument, one of the parties got into their vehicle and drove it towards Taştanoğlu, who was arguing with them. In the incident captured by security cameras, Taştanoğlu was thrown into the air and fell to the ground after being hit by the vehicle. The unidentified suspect fled the scene in their car. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the area upon notification. Taştanoğlu was taken to Bilkent City Hospital by ambulance. It was determined that Taştanoğlu had a fracture in his waist, and he was discharged after treatment. The police continue their efforts to identify and capture the fleeing suspect.

"HE HIT ME INTENTIONALLY"

Enishan Taştanoğlu, who works in furniture, described the events in traffic, saying, "We saw the parties shouting at each other and those who tried to intervene. We parked our vehicle to the side to ensure everyone could go on their way and approached the parties. I saw one of the parties leave. The person on the other side probably thought the incident was related to us. They hit our parked vehicle first. After that, I tried to stop them, I tried to open the door, and I saw them turning and leaving down the road.

We waited there, thinking, 'Let them go, we will report it to the police.' They turned back and came towards me and hit me. I have fractures in my waist. They hit me intentionally. This is the first time I have seen that good intentions can lead to trouble. They never got out of the vehicle, didn’t even check if I was okay, just pressed the gas and continued. We looked at the camera footage. The vehicle had neither a front nor a rear license plate. They hit me intentionally. I could have been disabled or paralyzed; it could have been worse, I could have died. Today is the 8th day. My pain is still ongoing. I am wearing a corset. I am filing a complaint and I want the driver to be found," he said.

"I WANT THEM TO BE TRIED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER"

Enishan Taştanoğlu's lawyer, Duru Özpınar Kaynak, stated, "My client stopped to help during a fight in the name of humanity. Unfortunately, while trying to help, he was injured by a vehicle. My client could have died there. This is not an accident or a simple fight. The vehicle came at high speed and almost tried to run over my client. My client's jump prevented a more serious injury. This incident occurred the moment my client went down to separate the fight. This is an attempt on a life. We want the perpetrator to be caught and tried for attempted murder," she said.
