In a trial where İlyas Çapkan, who shot his relative in the groin with a pump-action shotgun in the middle of the street due to a debt dispute in Antalya, a remorse theater took place. The defendant, who shot the father in front of a young girl and said "Let this be a lesson to you," asked for forgiveness in the courtroom from the man he shot, saying "Uncle Hasan, I sincerely apologize."

In the Kepez district of Antalya, the defendant who seriously wounded his relative, with whom he had a feud due to a debt dispute, using a pump-action shotgun, appeared before the judge. Apologizing to the man he shot in his defense in court, the defendant said, "I am definitely not someone who would kill for money," defending himself.

SPREAD TERROR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET WITH A PUMP-ACTION SHOTGUN

The incident occurred on October 10 last year at around 18:00 in the Fabrikalar neighborhood of Kepez district. Ilyas Capkan (35) arrived by car in front of the house of Hasan Dogan (57), with whom he had a long-standing feud over a debt dispute. Taking aim with the pump-action shotgun he brought with him, Capkan fired a shot in the middle of the street.

Hasan Dogan, shot in the groin, collapsed in a pool of blood, while the attacker fled the scene. Seriously injured, Dogan was taken to the hospital by ambulance and admitted to intensive care. After the incident, Ilyas Capkan was arrested, and Hasan Dogan, following a long treatment, overcame life-threatening danger and was discharged.

"UNCLE HASAN, I APOLOGIZE TO YOU SINCERELY"

At the second hearing of the case filed in the Antalya 6th Heavy Penal Court, the detained defendant Ilyas Capkan, along with Sirac C. and Enes C., who were being tried without detention for the crime of 'incitement,' appeared before the judge.

Taking the floor in the hearing, detained defendant Ilyas Capkan claimed they had been unable to collect their debts for a long time and said:

"We had a receivable from Hasan Dogan, and although he said he would pay for a long time, he did not pay. Uncle Hasan, I sincerely apologize to you. I would not have wanted things to come to this. We are relatives. His sons are my childhood friends. I am definitely not someone who would kill for money. I am innocent."

"WHILE FIRING THE GUN, HE SAID 'LET THIS BE A LESSON TO YOU'"

Hasan Dogan's daughter, Berfin Dogan, who was heard as a witness in the hearing, recounted the moments with tears. Emphasizing the trauma she experienced, the young girl said, "On the day of the incident, I was walking with my mother and sister, and my father had come to pick us up. The defendant arrived in a white car, having removed its license plate. Just as my father was about to get into the car, he aimed at his legs and fired. While firing the gun, he also said, 'Let this be a lesson to you.' It left an unforgettable trauma in a young girl's life."

"THE ELDERS DEMANDED BLOOD MONEY FROM US"

The other children of the injured Hasan Dogan also made striking statements in court. Witness Azat Dogan said the feud between them grew after the defendant's family demanded 'blood money' from them following a previous wounding incident.

Mesude Dogan, a health sciences student who provided first aid to her father at the scene, said, "As soon as I heard the gunshot, I ran. I saw my father covered in blood; his tongue had fallen back. Since I study health, I immediately administered first aid."

The court panel decided to extend the detention of defendant Ilyas Capkan and adjourned the hearing to a later date.
