The police statement of Haluk Levent, who is under detention, has emerged. Levent responded to the allegations of Hüseyin Başaran, Chairman of the Board of Başaran Holding, who filed a criminal complaint claiming Levent defrauded him of $60 million, leading to an investigation into the Ahbap Association. Levent argued that the matter between him and Hüseyin Başaran is merely a debt-receivable issue.
The singer Haluk Levent, who was detained as part of the investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the Ahbap Association and referred to the courthouse today along with 22 suspects, has had his police statement revealed.
In his police statement, Haluk Levent responded to the "fraud" allegation made by Hüseyin Başaran, Chairman of the Board of Başaran Holding, against him.
ALLEGATION OF 60 MILLION TL FRAUD
Hüseyin Başaran claimed that Haluk Levent, by saying "we will build dormitories for orphaned girls," ensured the transfer of 22 properties allegedly worth about 60 million dollars to the Ahbap Association, but these properties were not used for their intended purpose.
In his statement taken at the police station, Haluk Levent argued that the real estate transaction between him and Başaran was a matter of receivables and payables, and there was no fraudulent act.

Levent said, "I have become aware of the investigation and the allegations against me.
The real estate transaction between me and Hüseyin Başaran, who is one of the complainants in the case, is related to a matter of receivables and payables. There is no fraudulent act whatsoever.
I consider the issue to be one that involves a legal dispute.
Furthermore, the properties subject to the complaint are not of the alleged value. Some payments have also been made by me.
I do not wish to make any further statements regarding the alleged accusation beyond this. I want to give my detailed statement before the Public Prosecutor's Office," he said.
