Hacıosmanoğlu said, "No foreign referees will come again. That was a one-time exception." The TFF President also expressed encouraging words to local referees. The match between Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray in the quarter-finals of the Turkish Cup had brought the issue of foreign referees back into discussion.

According to a report by Umut Eken from Fanatik; Hacıosmanoğlu concluded the discussions with his statement, "No more foreign referees will come. That was a one-time exception."

It was also noted that İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu encouraged local referees by saying, "We believe you will show much better management in the remaining part of the season. You have been doing quite well in recent weeks."
