Elements of the ousted Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria launched an attack on army forces. In the ensuing conflict, at least 11 security personnel from the Syrian army were killed.
The operation carried out by the Syrian army against the elements of the deposed Bashar al-Assad regime in the province of Latakia continues. At least 11 security personnel from the Syrian Army have lost their lives in the clashes.
DEPOSED ASSAD REGIME ATTACKED AGAIN
The Syrian official news agency SANA reported that elements of the deposed regime launched an attack on security forces in the village of Beit Ana in Latakia, resulting in the death of one security personnel. The report also stated that an ambulance, which was moving to the scene to transport the dead and injured, was targeted by the elements of the deposed regime. It was noted that security forces sent reinforcements to the village and that clashes were taking place in the area with the mentioned elements.
11 SECURITY PERSONNEL LOST THEIR LIVES
According to information obtained from local sources, at least 10 security personnel lost their lives in the ongoing clashes near Hmeimim Airport and the Naval Academy in the Jableh district. Thus, a total of at least 11 security forces from the Syrian Army have died in the clashes that took place throughout the day. Reinforcement forces, including armored vehicles, were dispatched to the conflict points. In protest of the attack by the deposed regime elements, hundreds of people gathered in the squares in Idlib, Homs, Latakia, Aleppo, and Jableh.
SYRIAN ARMY HAD LAUNCHED AN OPERATION
The village of Beit Ana, located in Jableh, is also known as the hometown of Suheil al-Hassan, the commander of the 24th Division known as the "Tiger Forces," infamous for his massacres. The Syrian army had launched an operation against the elements of the deposed regime in Latakia and Daraa provinces that had refused to surrender their weapons in the last two days.
