Vehicles withdrawn from traffic for various reasons are taken to the Yediemin Parking Lot in Istanbul. In the vehicle graveyard located in Eyüpsultan, thousands of cars, motorcycles, and buses have been left to decay. While some vehicles are stored as scrap in the parking lot, others, even if they are not scrap, find their place in this graveyard.
Owners abandon their vehicles in the graveyard due to accumulated debts over the years and the cost of retrieving them from the parking lot. A variety of vehicles worth a fortune, including the latest model sports cars, attract attention in the parking lot. It is reported that there are over 2,000 vehicles and more than 1,500 motorcycles in the parking lot, while the area with decaying vehicles is protected against thieves by high walls and barbed wire. The vehicle graveyard was captured from the air. The images revealed the size of the parking lot. The vehicle graveyard, resembling a massive film set, almost reminded one of Hollywood movie scenes.
