In the cable car accident case in Antalya, a release decision has been made for 5 individuals.

In the fifth hearing of the cable car accident that occurred in the Konyaaltı district of Antalya in 2024, resulting in one person's death, five individuals were released.

On April 12, 2024, a cable car accident occurred in the Konyaaltı district of Antalya, resulting in the death of 1 person, injuries to 7 others, and the rescue of 174 people who were trapped after 23 hours. Six individuals, including the former chairman of the cable car operator ANET and the current mayor of Kepez, Mesut Kocagöz, were arrested.

"I AM NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT THE DEFENDANTS"

The fifth hearing of the cable car accident was held at the Antalya 6th High Criminal Court. The detained defendants Ahmet Buğra Samsunlu, Serkan Yellice, Serdar Tezcan, Okan Erol, and Suphi Kaplan were present at the hearing.

Describing the moment of the incident, complainant Dilek Güvener stated, "There was a sudden strong jolt; I didn't see any breakage, overturning, or sparks; I was too scared to look around much. I am not complaining about the defendants." Complainants Fatma Tural and İrem Nazlı Özcan also stated that they were not complaining about the defendants.

5 PEOPLE WERE RELEASED

The prosecutor requested in the interim opinion that detained defendant Suphi Kaplan be released under judicial control measures, while requesting the continuation of the detention of the other defendants. The detained defendants, in their defense against the opinion, requested their release. The court panel decided to release the 5 detained defendants under judicial control. The hearing was adjourned.
