The writer and composer Turhan Taşan, who was a guest on the Papyrus program hosted by Mesut Şenol, shared his journey of discovering music, his process of composing, and his works. Taşan attributed his interest in music during his childhood to his mother listening to Zeki Müren and shared the turning points in his career.
Turhan Taşan, known for his compositions and work in the field of music, made significant statements about his music career on Mesut Şenol's Papyrus program. Taşan detailed his interest in music and sources of inspiration since his childhood.
"I WANTED TO HAVE SONGS LIKE ZEKİ MÜREN IN MY PRIMARY SCHOOL YEARS"
Stating that his interest in music began at a young age, Turhan Taşan said, "The reason I was surrounded by music was due to my mother listening to Zeki Müren during my childhood." He mentioned that he dreamed of composing like İsmet Nedim and Zeki Müren during his primary school years and expressed that he progressed step by step to realize this dream.
"I HAD MY FIRST COMPOSITION NOTARIZED IN 1965"
Indicating that he took his first official step in his music career in 1965, Taşan said he had his first composition notarized. He pointed out that artists and producers in the music scene at that time were more constructive and supportive, stating, "I created all the songs recorded on the record with my second state of mind."
"I HAVE A LIBRARY OF 2,000 VOLUMES OF MUSIC BOOKS"
Not only a composer but also a researcher and writer, Taşan mentioned that he has a vast archive related to music. He stated, "My first book was about female composers, and afterwards, I wrote about artists from Samsun in Turkish music," emphasizing that his interest in music and literature has never faded. He also expressed that the song "Yıllar Yorgun Ben Yorgun," performed by children on Barış Manço's program, holds special meaning for him.
