Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated on his social media account that an operation was carried out against "online drug traffickers" with the participation of 783 personnel. Yerlikaya noted that 150 suspects, who were assessed to be engaged in drug trafficking through social media platforms, websites, and messaging applications, were apprehended, of which 142 were arrested, and judicial control measures were imposed on 8 others, emphasizing that operations will continue. Yerlikaya reported that cyber patrols detect drug dealers by monitoring keywords, symbols, and suspicious accounts on online platforms and encrypted messaging networks, stating, "Our cyber patrols use AI-supported algorithms to identify sellers operating in this dark web. As the Interior family, we are determined to cleanse our country from drug traffickers." Sharing images of the operation, Yerlikaya congratulated the public prosecutors and the police involved in the efforts.
