TONGUE GOT STUCK IN THROAT, SAVED IN SECONDS
The incident occurred on Saturday, January 3, in the Süleymanpaşa district. In the village league tournament, the teams of Köseilyas Mahallesi and Yörücek Mahallesi faced each other. In the 15th minute of the match, Erdem Kara, wearing the Yörücekspor jersey, hit his head after a blow he received in a position. Noticing that Kara was motionless, the referee Hakan Mutafçı stopped the game and called the medical personnel onto the field. Upon examination, it was determined that Kara's tongue had gotten stuck in his throat. Referee Mutafçı, along with the medical personnel, players, and with the help of a pen, managed to extract the tongue from the throat, allowing Kara to breathe. After the initial intervention, Erdem Kara was taken to the hospital by ambulance by the 112 medical teams that arrived at the scene. It was learned that Kara's health condition was good after the examinations.
The intervention of referee Hakan Mutafçı, who raced against time during the incident on the field, prevented a major danger.
