Interest in Chinese-made cars is increasing in Germany.

According to a survey conducted in Germany, approximately two-thirds of the participants are considering purchasing a car made in China. This trend is more pronounced among young people, with price advantage being the most significant factor.

It has been revealed that approximately two-thirds of those participating in a survey conducted in Germany are considering buying a Chinese-made car. In a report published on Friday in the Tagesschau program of Germany's state-owned broadcaster ARD, 59% of the respondents in the survey conducted by the German Automobile Club stated that buying a Chinese-made car is an option for them. The desire to buy a Chinese-made car is even stronger among young people. Among those aged 30-39, 74% expressed a desire to buy a Chinese-made car, while this figure was measured at 72% in the 18-29 age group.

THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR IS LOW PRICE

According to the survey, the price advantage plays the biggest role among those wanting to buy a Chinese-made car. According to a report published by the German Automobile Club in April, Chinese brands' cars exhibited a high level of safety in the EURO NCAP crash tests, which is the official new car assessment program in Europe. Considering the tests conducted on 13 different models from China and Europe over the past three years, the club concluded in April that "Chinese car manufacturers have shown significant progress and can compete with established brands."

NEW TAX ON CHINESE AUTOMOTIVE BRANDS

Following the U.S. administration's move to ban the use of hardware and software produced in China in America, the European Council has taken a similar step. Member countries of the European Union (EU) supported the proposal to impose an additional customs duty of up to 45% on Chinese-made electric cars.
