A citizen named Nurettin Bahadır expressed his great satisfaction with Özarslan's resignation decision by distributing lokma to the people on the street. Bahadır stated that he fulfilled a vow he had made earlier with the following words:
"I was very happy that our Keçiören Mayor, Dr. Mesut Özarslan, has resigned from the CHP. I had made a vow regarding this matter before. Today, I am preparing this lokma to keep my promise. May our lokma be accepted."
Bahadır said: "When our Keçiören Mayor Mesut was a candidate from the CHP, I did not vote for him. I saw that there were beautiful works in the environment; I look at Bağlum, I look at Keçiören, I look around Etlik, the works are very beautiful everywhere.
I made a vow to myself and prayed. I said, 'If this man separates from the Republican People's Party, I have vowed to this man, I will have lokma made.' And then I saw in the following process that I heard he had separated from the CHP in the Keçiören Municipality, and because I promised to have lokma made, I am doing it because of my vow."
