After the attacks initiated by the United States and Israel, Iran, which launched ballistic missile strikes against some countries in the Middle East in retaliation, stated, "We will not attack any neighboring country." Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ismail Bakayi emphasized that they are not targeting regional countries, saying, "Our attacks only encompass the U.S. military bases and interests located on the territories of these countries."
While direct conflicts continue between the US and Israel and Iran, a striking message has come from Tehran to the regional countries. Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ismail Bakayi stated that their attacks are not against neighboring countries, but solely target the US military presence.
"THE TARGET IS US BASES AND INTERESTS"
In his assessment on the evening of February 28, Bakayi said that Iran's retaliatory attacks only encompass US military bases and American interests located on the territories of those countries.
Stating, "We are not attacking any neighboring country. What is happening is a legitimate defense against the US's military aggression," Bakayi emphasized that Iran is in a defensive position.
"COOPERATION WITH THE US WILL HAVE CONSEQUENCES"
Bakayi also warned that there would be consequences if support is given for attacks against Iran.
Referring to international law, the spokesman said, "Any cooperation and participation in an aggressive act against Iran will lead to those countries being held responsible as well."
Claiming that the US uses military bases in regional countries for its operations against Iran, Bakayi stated, "The areas hit cannot be considered the territory of neighboring countries. Because these are under the authority and ownership of the US and are currently being used against us."
"WE EXTEND A HAND OF FRIENDSHIP TO OUR NEIGHBORS"
Bakayi, indicating that the Tehran administration does not seek conflict with regional countries, said that Iran's military steps are not against any neighboring state.
Stating, "As in the past, we continue to extend our hand of friendship to all neighboring countries," Bakayi expressed that the tension should not escalate into a regional war.
So far, Iran has targeted Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan.
