The Strait of Hormuz, one of the most critical points in global oil trade, remains closed to ship traffic amid the ongoing war with US-Israel attacks and Iran's retaliations. Most recently, US President Donald Trump announced that they struck Iranian minesweeper ships in the Strait of Hormuz, while the Iranian Revolutionary Guards responded by sharing images of their underground naval base in the Gulf.

The attacks initiated by the US and Israel against Iran and Tehran's retaliations have seriously affected ship traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most critical points of global oil trade. Insurance companies have canceled war policies for ships in the region, while many container and tanker companies have suspended transits through the Strait.

TRUMP: WE HIT 28 MINING SHIPS

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that 16 Iranian mine-laying ships were destroyed near the Strait of Hormuz early yesterday morning. US President Donald Trump emphasized in a statement made in the evening that they hit 28 mine ships belonging to Iran and will continue to target these ships.

Trump, who claimed that the American military performed better in its attacks on targets in Iran than planned, stated, "We received less of a blow from (Iran) than I expected, and we will continue on our way again in a very short time."

A "VIDEO" RESPONSE FROM THE REVOLUTIONARY GUARDS

Following Trump's statements, a response came from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps in the form of a share. Images of an underground naval base located in the Persian Gulf were released through Iranian state media. The images included mostly unmanned fast attack boats, anti-ship missiles, and naval mines. It was noted that the base was built at a depth of 500 meters somewhere in the Gulf, and it was striking that the images also featured the Commander of the Revolutionary Guards, Major General Hossein Salami, who lost his life in the Israeli attacks carried out last June.
