Iran struck one of the region's most important oil refineries in the city of Haifa, Israel. Following the attack, a fire broke out at the facility, and power was cut in Haifa.
According to news in the Israeli press, it was reported that there was damage to the oil refinery in Haifa due to the Iranian attack.
ATTACK ON OIL REFINERY IN HAIFA
Iran targeted one of the largest oil refineries in the region located in the strategic port city of Haifa with missiles. Following the attack, a massive fire broke out at the facility, and a thick layer of smoke covered the sky. While firefighting teams continued to intervene in the flames, it was reported that the facility suffered heavy damage.
POWER OUTAGES
Simultaneously with the attack, widespread power outages occurred throughout Haifa and surrounding settlements. Authorities announced that a large part of the city could not be supplied with electricity due to damage to energy lines. While security measures in the region were heightened, the attack is expected to directly affect global oil prices.
IRAN'S LARGEST NATURAL GAS FACILITY HIT
Meanwhile, yesterday, US and Israeli forces targeted oil refineries and South Pars natural gas facilities in the city of Asaluyeh, located in Iran's Bushehr province. The attacks hit the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth refineries in Asaluyeh. Fires broke out at the targeted facilities.
In the attacks on the South Pars natural gas field, it was reported that the third and sixth phases of the field were targeted. Iranian officials announced that the fire in the region had been brought under control.
IRAN'S RETALIATORY ATTACK ON ENERGY FACILITIES IN 3 COUNTRIES
Following the developments, Tehran targeted a series of energy facilities in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar.
US-ISRAEL ATTACKS ON IRAN
Israel and the US launched a military attack on Iran on February 28 while negotiations were ongoing between the Tehran and Washington administrations.
In response, Iran attacked targets it identified in several regional countries, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Bahrain, where US bases are located, in addition to Israel.
In the US-Israel attacks, Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, along with many high-ranking officials, was killed. According to Iranian officials, the death toll from the US-Israel attacks exceeded 1,348, and the number of injured surpassed 17,000.
