The famous singer İrem Derici and the writer Sevda Türküsev got into a foul-mouthed argument on social media after a flight. Derici plans to file a lawsuit against Türküsev for using derogatory expressions about her and for recording her without permission.
Writer Sevda Türküsev traveled on the same plane as singer İrem Derici and expressed her discomfort in a video she shared from the airport after the plane landed, due to Derici and her team's loud conversations.
"LEARN HOW TO BEHAVE IN PUBLIC"
Sevda Türküsev stated that İrem Derici does not know how to behave in social settings, saying, "The voices coming from behind are from İrem Derici. Unfortunately, we were on the same plane. It’s interesting that a person's voice can be so beautiful, yet they don’t know how to behave in public. Foul language, loud laughter... The whole team acts as if it’s their private space. An artist is a whole, but first learn how to behave in public," she said.
RESPONSE FROM İREM DERİCİ
İrem Derici responded to those words by saying, "Shut up, unhappy girl! You were supposedly laughing with us when boarding the plane, you fool. Oh God, unnecessary sister," she replied. Derici also used a foul expression in one of her comments.
After Türküsev announced that she would file a lawsuit against İrem Derici, a lawsuit announcement also came from the famous singer.
WILL PURSUE LEGAL ACTION
İrem Derici announced through her lawyer Ayşegül Mermer that she would file a lawsuit against Sevda Türküsev with the following statements:
"To the press and the public;
My client İrem Derici was recorded without her permission by a person whose name she later learned was Sevda Türküsev on February 24, 2025, at Istanbul Airport, and was subjected to unfounded allegations. Sevda Türküsev accused my client while filming her and loudly saying, 'The voices coming from behind are İrem Derici and her team. How tragic it is that a person's voice can be so beautiful, yet they don’t know how to behave in public. It’s as if the plane is theirs, their airport, talking loudly and laughing inappropriately. How shameful! An artist is a whole, and it doesn’t work with just one voice!'
Sevda Türküsev shared the video recording on all her social media accounts, sharing unfounded and baseless accusations that demean my client, who is a public figure, to gain interaction with her followers.
The claims made by this person, who has previously created a chaotic environment and fed off it by being involved in false news and similar processes, regarding my client İrem Derici are completely unfounded and baseless. We present this matter to the public's knowledge. Additionally, we leave to the public's judgment the interest expected from a person who did not file any complaints with the airline's employees during the flight but made such a post after disembarking.
