The decision to provide lifelong state protection by Shin Bet, Israel's internal intelligence agency, for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's wife Sara Netanyahu, and for five years for their children Yair and Avner Netanyahu, has been approved. Israeli media had reported that Netanyahu pressured for the extension of state protection for his family in case he loses the elections scheduled for October 27.

The Ministerial Committee for the Shin Bet (Shabak), chaired by Israeli Justice Minister Yariv Levin, approved the request to provide protection for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's family.

ORGANIZATION ONE, DIRECTOR ANOTHER REQUEST

While Netanyahu requested the extension of Shabak protection for his wife Sara and his children Yair and Avner, the Israeli internal intelligence agency expressed opposition to the matter. Despite this, Shabak Director David Zini, under pressure from Netanyahu, submitted a request to extend the protection of the Prime Minister's family.

WIFE PROTECTED FOR LIFE, CHILDREN FOR 5 MORE YEARS

Zini's request was approved by the Ministerial Committee for Shabak, and it was decided that Shabak would continue to provide protection to Sara Netanyahu for life, and to Yair and Avner for 5 years.

The report also stated that last year, the committee approved increased security measures abroad for the protection of some Israeli ministers.

ELECTIONS INTIMIDATED HIM

The Israeli press had reported that Netanyahu pressured for the extension of state protection for his family in case he loses the elections planned for October 27.
