The Israeli army's attacks on "military targets" in Iran lasted for 3.5 hours. The assaults, which occurred in three waves, targeted missile and drone production facilities. According to Israeli media, the retaliatory attack, described as an operation, was named "Days of Repentance."
The details of the attacks carried out by Israel last night in retaliation for Iran's missile attack on October 1 have emerged.
Israeli officials announced that three waves of attacks were carried out against Iran. The second and third waves focused on missile and drone production facilities. The Israeli army stated, "100 fighter jets participated in the retaliatory attack against Iran." Israeli media reported that 20 targets were hit during the 3.5-hour attack, stating, "The operation is named Days of Repentance."
"RETALIATORY ATTACK COMPLETED AND TARGETS ACHIEVED"
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced this morning that the retaliatory attack against Iran has been completed. IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari stated after the attacks, "Our planes returned safely after striking military targets in Iran a short while ago. This was a response to Iran's attacks on the State of Israel in recent months. The retaliatory attack is complete, and the targets have been achieved." Regarding a possible counterattack, Hagari said, "If the regime in Iran makes the mistake of escalating tensions, we will have to respond. Our message is clear: Anyone who threatens Israel and seeks to drag the region into broader tensions will pay a heavy price."
2 IRANIAN SOLDIERS KILLED
The Iranian army announced that 2 of its soldiers lost their lives in the airstrikes carried out by Israel on military targets. The Iranian Air Defense Forces stated that the attacks on military facilities in Tehran, Khuzestan, and Ilam were thwarted.
IRAN'S MESSAGE: "WE WILL RESPOND TO THE ATTACK"
According to a report by Iran's semi-official news agency Tasnim, an unnamed source stated that Tehran would respond to the airstrike carried out by Israel during the night. The source said, "As we have previously stated, Iran is prepared to respond to Israel's attacks. Iran reserves the right to respond to any attack. There is no doubt that Israel will receive an appropriate response to any of its actions."
ALSO STRUCK SYRIA
Meanwhile, the Israeli army simultaneously attacked Syria as well. Explosions were heard near Damascus and in Homs. It was noted that Hezbollah and Iran-backed groups have a significant presence in both cities.
