GROWS IN THE HIGH PLACES OF TOKAT AND SIVAS
Ahmet Şarkışla, who runs a business in Sivas, stated that the wild pear is a winter fruit, saying, "After citizens buy the wild pear, they put it in a dark room. It is not consumed in 1-2 days, but rather over 30 days. It is harvested in the 10th and 11th months, between Tokat and Sivas, and in high areas. It is not found in every village. We refer to it as a winter fruit. Adults know the wild pear better. It is also good for colds, the digestive system, and immunity," he said.
PRICE IS 300 LIRA
"It grows every two years. One year is fruitful, the next year it grows less. When it ripens, we hang it on the stall, and it is eaten when it is completely black. The bunch weighs about 2 kilograms, and citizens should consume it within a month. Last year at this time, it was 150 lira, but now it has risen to 300 lira. This year, the yield is lower, which has caused the price to increase. In a place where 500 kilograms were produced, only 50 kilograms have been collected so far," he stated.

Ahmet Şarkışla explained the health benefits of the wild pear, stating, "Especially in the winter months, the wild pear should be consumed as it is good for colds, immunity, high blood pressure, intestinal diseases, heart, and kidney disorders. There are also people coming from surrounding provinces to buy it. Citizens are curious and come. We offer it to them, and they come back the next day to buy it. We put 5 labels so that those who do not know can learn its name," he stated.
