Ece Gürel's husband, Sezer Gürel, responded to questions about "witch training" and "why he sent his wife to the forest alone." He stated that he had not witnessed any witchcraft course and said, "They are asking why I left my wife alone. I loved making my wife happy."
Architect Ece Gürel, who got lost in the Belgrade Forest and was found after the efforts of the teams on the 4th day, had passed away in the hospital she was taken to.

Additionally, it was observed from her social media posts that she was interested in astrology and engaged in activities based on traditional beliefs such as tarot and lead casting. It was alleged that Ece Gürel practiced sound meditation and went to the forest to meditate. There were even claims that she received training in witchcraft. Sezer Gürel, Ece Gürel's husband, who closed her social media account, made statements regarding his wife's death on ATV's program "Müge Anlı İle Tatlı Sert." Sezer Gürel said, "We saw the bad side of social media. Our pain continues to grow. My wife is a graduate of four universities and still loves to study. She has participated in a competition program. She was interested in astrology, but it was taken in another direction. We couldn't experience our grief. They say, 'Why did you leave your wife alone?' I loved making my wife happy. Whenever my wife wanted to take a course, she would. Someone who picks up a phone shakes something. My wife has no chance of hiding anything from me. When we previously came to the Belgrade Forest, my wife would not want us to leave the walking path." he said.
POLICE REACHED THE LAST PEOPLE SHE SPOKE TO
Sezer Gürel, who stated that he did not know the password to his wife's phone, mentioned that the police informed him that they were contacting the last people Ece Gürel spoke to.
"IF I KNEW SHE WOULD GO TO THE FOREST, I WOULD HAVE GONE WITH HER"
Sezer Gürel, who stated that he had no knowledge of his wife attending witchcraft training in the Belgrade Forest, said, "If that were the case, I would not have left my wife alone. I would have gone too. My wife was just curious about these things. She went to the forest to clear her mind." he said.
NUMBERS ON INSTAGRAM WERE ALSO ASKED
After Ece Gürel's death, the numbers on her husband Sezer Gürel's Instagram account drew attention. Sezer Gürel responded regarding these numbers, known as Grabovoi numbers, saying, "He said they were lucky numbers, I don't really know or understand. I don't think it's a bad thing. He would say he was lucky because he took astronomy classes. I have not witnessed anything like witchcraft courses. Since I wasn't very interested, I didn't pay much attention when my wife wrote about these topics on social media."
When asked, "Did your wife have them on her social media?" Sezer replied, "I don't know, maybe she did. This is a very old matter. Maybe she deleted it herself."
WHAT HAPPENED?
Ece Gürel, who left her home in the Gültepe neighborhood of Kağıthane on Sunday, March 2, saying she would go for a walk in the Belgrade Forest, went missing, and a large-scale search operation was initiated with the participation of many search and rescue teams upon the notification of her relatives. Ece Gürel's mobile phone and some personal belongings were found during the search operations conducted in the Belgrade Forest on March 4. As a result of the teams' efforts lasting 4 days, Gürel was found in a steep forested area at 01:15 the previous night, was treated in the intensive care unit of Maslak Acıbadem Hospital, and despite all interventions, she passed away.
