Heavy rainfall is expected to affect 43 provinces, including Istanbul and Ankara. Following the meteorological warnings, rain clouds were reflected on the weather radar. The clouds covering Istanbul caused thunderstorms in some districts of the Anatolian side.

In July, temperatures had risen to 55 degrees. The temperatures gave way to heavy rainfall. The General Directorate of Meteorology expects strong thunderstorms and heavy rain in 43 provinces, including Istanbul and Ankara. Rainfall is expected to continue over the weekend.

According to the forecasts made by the meteorology; the northern, inner, and western parts of the country are expected to be partly cloudy with occasional very cloudy conditions, while the eastern Marmara, Inner Aegean, inner parts of the Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, the coasts of the Central and Eastern Black Sea, as well as the coasts of Hatay, Sinop, Bolu, Kastamonu, Amasya, Tokat, and Ardahan are expected to experience local showers and thunderstorms, while other places are expected to be slightly cloudy and clear. The wind is expected to blow strongly (40-60 km/h) from the north in the Marmara and Northern Aegean coasts, and from the south in the eastern part of Eastern Anatolia.

RAINS REFLECTED ON RADAR

After the warnings from the meteorology, rain clouds were reflected on the radar. In a post made from the Hava Forum's X account, it was stated, "According to the latest data from the Istanbul radar, local small but intense rain masses are forming. Thunderstorms and heavy rain may suddenly occur in your area. Keep your mini umbrellas ready. The Anatolian side is currently getting active."

RAIN SHOWED ITS EFFECT

In some districts of the city on the European and Anatolian sides, thunderstorms began to show their effects in the afternoon hours.

The sudden downpour on Istiklal Street caused difficulties for citizens. Those caught unprepared by the rain took shelter at bus stops, waiting for the rain to subside, while some tried to protect themselves from the rain by putting bags over their heads.

It was observed that some citizens had difficulty controlling their umbrellas due to the wind.

The rain, which showed its effect along with the wind in Fatih, caused squares and parks to remain empty.

Short-term rain transitions were also observed in Beylikdüzü and Ümraniye.

During the effective rain in Üsküdar, some enjoyed the view of the Bosphorus, while others took shelter at bus stops, waiting for the rain to subside.
