Journalist Deniz Arman has passed away. Arman's funeral will be held tomorrow after the prayer at Beşiktaş Vişnezade Mosque, and he will be laid to rest.

One of the leading journalists of the Turkish press, news anchor Deniz Arman has passed away. Arman, who had been receiving treatment at Çam Sakura Hospital for a while due to his illness, was reported to have died by journalist Özay Erad.

In his post, Erad stated, "And a star from the media, a master pen has been lost. The 'sand timer' has stopped. We have lost a good person, a good journalist, a good Beşiktaş fan, Deniz Arman." Arman's death has caused great sorrow in the media community. His funeral will be held tomorrow (January 25, Saturday) after the funeral prayer at Beşiktaş Vişnezade Mosque.

WHO IS DENİZ ARMAN?

Deniz Arman was born on May 2, 1961, in Ankara as the only child of his family. Arman's grandparents immigrated from Crimea to Istanbul during the great migration at the end of the 1800s. His mother's name is Gülen Arman. His father, Ülkü Arman, was a journalist.

He completed his primary education at Çankaya Primary School until the third grade. He then attended TED Ankara College, where he graduated in 1979 after passing the entrance exams. After one year at METU, he transferred to Istanbul University, where he graduated from the Faculty of Economics. After graduation, he started working at the Milliyet Economy Department.

During his university years, he also worked as a 'joke writer' for Gırgır and Fırt dergileri. Here, he met Oğuz Aral, Tekin Aral, Altan Erbulak, and Hasan Kaçan.

In 1985, he began his journalism career as a reporter at Milliyet newspaper, where Çetin Emeç was the Editor-in-Chief. He then worked alongside Mehmet Ali Birand in the Milliyet foreign news department. In 1992, he started working at Show TV, collaborating with Mehmet Ali Birand's "32nd Day" team.

In 1996, he moved to Star TV with Gülgün Feyman. While serving as the news director at Star News in 1997, he began presenting news after the presenter left the job. He completed his military service in 1987.

In 1999, he left Star TV and joined Show TV, while also starting to write for Akşam newspaper. In 2000, he left both Show TV and Akşam newspaper and moved to Habertürk. In 2003, he left Habertürk and joined Vatan newspaper.

In 2004, he left Vatan newspaper and returned to Star TV. After Kenan Işık's arrival in 2005, he left Star TV and became a weekend news presenter at Kanal D. Deniz Arman, who presented the weekend news at Kanal D, was dismissed in 2010. He returned to Kanal D in 2012 and became the General News Editor. He was terminated from his position on November 6, 2014, as a result of the layoffs at Kanal D News.

Deniz Arman married Bercis Gülerman, whom he met in university in 1985. He has a son named Volga (b. 1991).
