Justice Minister Akın Gürlek made a statement on his official X account. Minister Gürlek said, "Israel's decision to expand settlement activities and impose sovereignty in the occupied West Bank is absolutely unacceptable. This step constitutes a clear violation of international law, justice, and human dignity."
In the city of Nablus in the West Bank, Israeli flags were raised in the archaeological area where the Al-Mesudiye Train Station, located within the borders of Palestine, of the Hejaz Railway is situated. Local Palestinian officials assessed the move as a reinforcement of control on the ground.
Reactions from Turkey to the scandal came in quick succession. AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik also reacted to the move, stating, "Israel's imposition of sovereignty over the occupied West Bank is spatial genocide."
"A CLEAR STANCE MUST BE TAKEN"
Justice Minister Akın Gürlek, in a social media post, used the following expressions: "Israel's decision to expand settlement activities and impose sovereignty in the occupied West Bank is absolutely unacceptable. This step constitutes a blatant violation of international law, justice, and human dignity. Illegal settlements and land grabs undermine hopes for peace in the region and erode the perspective of a two-state solution.
"WE WILL CONTINUE OUR SUPPORT WITH DETERMINATION"
The international community must take a clear stance in favor of the law and fundamental human rights. As Turkey, we will continue to stand by our Palestinian brothers in their just struggle; we will resolutely maintain our support for the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, with East Jerusalem as its capital, on every platform based on the 1967 borders."
