Kılıçdaroğlu was asked directly: Will you be a candidate at the congress?

The question of whether former party leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu would run for candidacy at the extraordinary congress of the CHP, scheduled for Sunday, April 6, was a matter of curiosity. Responding to the question on the agenda, Kılıçdaroğlu stated, "I have never expressed anywhere that 'I am a candidate for the leadership.' Whoever is elected at the congress will be the right choice."

The eyes of millions are turned towards the upcoming CHP congress, while protests continue following the arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu in the corruption investigation against the IMM.

At the extraordinary congress to be held on Sunday, April 6, it was also a matter of curiosity whether former Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu would run for candidacy.

THE ALLEGATION ON THE AGENDA WAS ASKED

After a series of allegations, Kılıçdaroğlu used striking expressions in response to Saygı Öztürk from Sözcü Newspaper, who asked, "Will you be a candidate at the congress?"

Kılıçdaroğlu stated, "I have never said 'I am a candidate for chairman' since I first became chairman. In other words, I have not spoken about being a candidate for chairman. What I will say is that the party should hold a democratic congress. I had published a congratulatory message because a decision was made to hold the congress with permission. Therefore, I stand behind that message. It was a correct decision. I have never expressed anywhere that 'I am a candidate for candidacy, for chairmanship.' Whoever is elected at the congress, that is the truth."
