Lawyer Burak Bekiroğlu announced that they have applied to the peace criminal court with a request to block access to the social media accounts of CHP's presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently in prison.
"CLOSURE UNTIL THE END OF THE TRIAL..."
In a statement made on his X account, Lawyer Burak Bekiroğlu recalled that İmamoğlu was arrested as part of an investigation conducted by the Organized Crimes Investigation Office of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and stated the following;
"It has been determined that suspect Ekrem İmamoğlu, by giving instructions from prison in line with the aims, principles, and targets of the alleged criminal organization, attempted to disrupt our economy by calling for a boycott against domestic companies operating in our country through the use of his X account by third parties, and at the same time attempted to exert pressure on the judiciary by publicly spreading misleading information for his own interests. Therefore, an application has been submitted to the On-Duty Istanbul Peace Criminal Court via UYAP with a request to block access to the X account until the end of the trial."
