In the Sincan district of Ankara, a muezzin named Mücahid Sadan was stabbed by a person he was arguing with for an unknown reason while he was on his way to the mosque for the afternoon prayer. While Sadan's life remains in danger, the attacker has been apprehended.
The mosque muezzin who was previously involved in a dispute in Ankara was seriously injured in a knife attack. The muezzin's life-threatening condition continues.
In the Sincan district of Ankara, muezzin Mücahid Sadan (27) was attacked with a knife by O.T., with whom he had a dispute for an unknown reason, while he was on his way to the Abüsselam Mosque for the afternoon prayer.
HE MADE IT TO THE MOSQUE WITH A KNIFE IN HIS CHEST
Sadan, who arrived at the mosque with a knife stuck in his chest and asked for help from people nearby, was transported to the hospital by ambulance. It was reported that Sadan, who was placed under observation in the intensive care unit after surgery, continues to be in a life-threatening condition.
It was stated that O.T., who was caught by the police shortly after the incident, would be brought to the courthouse after his procedures at the police station.
"HE CAME TO THE MOSQUE WITH A KNIFE AND ASKED FOR HELP"
Ömer Bozacı, a local shopkeeper who spoke about the incident, described what happened: "The muezzin was coming towards the mosque. Since he left his house, a person wearing a mask had been following him and called out to him. Then he attacked the muezzin with a knife. The injured person came to the mosque with a knife in his chest and asked for help. Then they took him to the hospital by ambulance. The fleeing attacker was caught by the police shortly after. As far as we know, there was no problem between them. The muezzin was a quiet person, and no one had complained about him. He was receiving treatment in the intensive care unit. His condition remained serious."
