3 OUT OF 8 OPERATION BASES CLOSED
According to the report based on two senior U.S. officials, the military has closed 3 of its 8 small operation bases in northeastern Syria and reduced the number of troops from about 2,000 to approximately 1,400.
PENTAGON SUGGESTS KEEPING 500 TROOPS IN SYRIA
Officials stated that Pentagon officials will conduct a situation assessment in 60 days and will consider whether to make further cuts. The report noted that a Pentagon official suggested keeping at least 500 troops in Syria.
