It was decided to write a letter to the Ministry of Justice to request the extradition of fugitive defendant Oğuz Demir, based on the possibility of him being in Australia. The hearing was postponed to July 14.

In the case of fugitive defendant Oğuz Demir, who is being tried for the murder of journalist and writer Uğur Mumcu, the court panel decided to write to the Ministry of Justice to make the necessary request for his extradition in case he is in Australia.

The trial of fugitive defendant Oğuz Demir, related to the bombing that killed Uğur Mumcu on January 24, 1993, in front of his house in Ankara, continued at the Ankara 5th High Criminal Court. Mumcu's daughter Özge Aybars Mumcu and her lawyer attended the hearing. Some members of parliament also followed the trial. In the case, the lawyer for the Mumcu family requested an investigation into a vehicle registered in the name of the defendant Demir, stating that there was a vehicle registered in his name. Additionally, it was noted that there is information indicating that Demir and his family are in Australia, and a request was made for the necessary actions to be taken for his extradition.

THE HEARING WAS ADJOURNED TO JULY 14

After the statements, the court panel announced its interim decision, stating that a letter would be written to the General Directorate of Security regarding the nature of the transactions the vehicle registered in Demir's name has undergone since its first registration date. It was also recorded that there is a possibility that the defendant is in Australia, and it was ruled that a letter should be written to the Ministry of Justice to make the necessary request for his extradition. Furthermore, it was decided to write to the relevant authorities to investigate whether Demir's family has entered Turkey. The hearing was adjourned to July 14.
