Following reports of a payment of 600 TL for 3 bottles of water at a business in the Mudanya district of Bursa, the Ministry of Trade took action. As a result of inspections, the ministry imposed a fine on the business, where various deficiencies were also identified.
The Ministry of Trade imposed an administrative fine on a business in Mudanya following reports that 600 lira was paid for 3 bottles of water.
600 TL BILL FOR 3 BOTTLES OF WATER
According to a statement from the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry conducted an on-site inspection on February 17, 2026, by the Bursa Provincial Directorate of Trade, in response to a post on social media and various news sites regarding a business in Mudanya where 600 lira was paid for 3 bottles of water.
MINISTRY IMPOSED A FINE
During the inspection, the price list that should be present at the entrance of the business and the menus that should be on the tables were checked, and the pricing practices, especially for beverage products, were examined within the framework of the legislation.
As a result of the inspection, it was determined that 5 types of beverages were not included in the entrance price list and the menu, and therefore, an administrative fine was imposed on the business for violating the tariff and price list.
Additionally, an excessive price inspection was conducted regarding the mentioned beverages, and purchase invoices and defenses for the last 3 months were requested, leading to a second report being prepared.

In the Ministry's statement, it was noted, "Along with the report, the information and documents have been immediately forwarded to the Unfair Price Assessment Board within our Ministry of Trade for necessary action. We continue our inspections without interruption in all matters within our jurisdiction, especially in the food and beverage sector, both routinely and upon complaints; we are resolutely carrying out all administrative procedures necessary to protect the rights of our consumers and ensure fair pricing in the market."
