The decision has been made in the lawsuit for moral compensation filed by Duygu Nebioğlu, one of the twin daughters born from the extramarital relationship of Metin Akpınar in the 1980s with Suphiye Orancı.
In the lawsuit filed by Nebioğlu on the grounds that paternal responsibilities were not fulfilled, the court ruled for 6 million TL in moral compensation. It was stated that there is a right to appeal following the decision.
'A PRECEDENT-SETTING DECISION HAS BEEN MADE'
After the decision, Nebioğlu made the following statement:
"We made this decision due to the sorrow I have lived for years and my desire to address my childhood wounds, and I believe that justice has been served in line with the decision we made. A precedent-setting decision has been made."
'IT WILL QUENCH A LITTLE OF THE DEVASTATION'
Nebioğlu's lawyer, Ahmet Furkan Uludağ, reminded that they had previously won the paternity case and used the following expressions:
"At least we filed a lawsuit for compensation that will quench a little of Duygu's devastation. Many witnesses were heard in our case. A precedent-setting decision was made by the court. 6 million TL in moral compensation was ruled in line with our request for Duygu. Hopefully, this decision will quench a little of the pain she has endured."
