A person who came to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan pointed a gun at his head; then he fired into the air. The individual, whom police teams tried to persuade, shot himself in the leg, injuring himself. It was revealed that the injured person was Mehmet Emin G. (38) and that he had a confirmed prison sentence of 4 years and 3 months, as well as 5 criminal records with the police.
The incident occurred around 10:10 in front of the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan. The person with the gun allegedly said, 'You gave me 300 years in prison,' and pointed the gun at his head. The man, whom police teams tried to persuade upon noticing the situation, fired into the air to prevent anyone from approaching him.
HE SUDDENLY SHOT HIS LEG
While the police took security measures in the area, the man who shot himself in the leg collapsed to the ground. The injured person, who received first aid from the police teams, was taken to Okmeydanı Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşçıoğlu City Hospital by the medical teams that arrived at the scene for treatment.
4 YEARS AND 3 MONTHS CONFIRMED PRISON SENTENCE
It was revealed that the person, who was not in life-threatening condition, was Mehmet Emin G. (38). It was found that Mehmet Emin G. had a confirmed prison sentence of 4 years and 3 months and had records with the police for 'Qualified Fraud', 'Theft', 'Intentional Injury', 'Robbery', and 'Theft'. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
