Following the statements made by the President of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, regarding some referees participating in betting, new allegations have emerged. According to these claims, not only referees but also club presidents, coaches, players, and club staff are involved in the betting scandal.

The President of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, shared striking details regarding a betting scandal that has caused a significant stir in Turkish football. Hacıosmanoğlu revealed that hundreds of referees working in professional leagues have betting accounts and that some referees have placed bets thousands of times.

"3,700 PEOPLE INVESTIGATED"

Following Hacıosmanoğlu's statements, journalist Tahir Kum, who joined the live broadcast of HT Sport, shared noteworthy information about the process. Kum stated, "The TFF initiated an investigation about a month ago regarding 3,700 people in the football family. This included club presidents, managers, coaches, players, and referees."

"WHO HAS PLACED BETS AND HOW MANY TIMES?"

Tahir Kum also mentioned that the TFF is conducting a detailed investigation in cooperation with legal and international betting companies, explaining, "A company that the TFF has an agreement with conducted research related to international betting firms and legal companies affiliated with the Sports Toto Organization. It has been investigated for the last month who has betting accounts among those in the football family, who has placed bets, and how many times."

"CLUB PRESIDENT, MASSEUR, PLAYER, COACHES!"

Kum noted that very striking results emerged from the investigations, stating, "It was determined that a club president placed bets 3,057 times and won 476 times, a masseur placed bets 2,399 times and won 329 times, a player played 1,950 times and won 340 times, and another player and coaches placed bets 15,987 times and earned profits 3,138 times."

"THE MATCH WHERE THE EVENTS STARTED"

Kum stated that the history of the betting allegations is based on a previously played match, saying, "These events started with the match played between Ankaraspor and Nazillispor, which took 1.5-2 years for investigation and inquiry. Serious penalties were imposed on players and managers in that match. It was determined that players, managers, and presidents placed high odds bets during that period. This situation led TFF President Hacıosmanoğlu to initiate a large-scale investigation."

"NOT ONLY REFEREES ARE INVOLVED"

Kum emphasized that the investigation is not limited to referees, stating, "This investigation, conducted with data obtained from both national and international betting companies, has revealed initial results. It does not only involve referees; presidents, coaches, and players are also involved in the betting incidents. The TFF will write to the Sports Toto Organization requesting the removal of special bets placed on referee decisions in matches. Requests will be made to eliminate special betting options such as 'how many times VAR will be consulted, which player will receive a red card'."
