CONDEMNED IRAN'S ATTACKS
In a statement from the Palestinian Authority, it was emphasized that Abbas condemned the recent Iranian attacks on neighboring Arab countries. Abbas also thanked Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the support Saudi Arabia has provided to the Palestinian people.
HARSH WORDS TOWARDS HAMAS
Last year, during a meeting held in the occupied West Bank, Abbas spoke in an angry tone, referring to Hamas as "sons of dogs." Hamas Political Bureau Member Bassem Naim also condemned Abbas for using "derogatory language against a significant portion of his own people." Naim stated, "Abbas continuously and suspiciously holds our people responsible for the crimes of the occupiers and the ongoing oppression."

According to a statement from the Greek Prime Minister's office, the developments in Iran, Lebanon, and the Middle East in general were evaluated during the meeting. Mitsotakis expressed that tensions in the region should not escalate further and conveyed his concerns about the situation in the West Bank to Abbas. He also emphasized that necessary steps should be taken to ensure that humanitarian aid to Gaza is not interrupted.
