Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 81 suspects, including active public officials, were captured in simultaneous operations targeting FETÖ centered in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Diyarbakır, and Balıkesir this morning. Minister Yerlikaya stated that the captured suspects had the organization's secret communication program ByLock on their phones.
Operations centered in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Diyarbakır, and Balıkesir dealt a heavy blow to FETÖ. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 81 suspects were captured in the operations.
Interior Minister Yerlikaya stated in a statement on his social media account that in the simultaneous operations conducted this morning against FETÖ centered in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Diyarbakır, and Balıkesir, 81 suspects were captured, including active public officials, and provided the following information:
"As a result of the work carried out in coordination with the EGM KOM and intelligence directorates and the public prosecutor's offices; based on the information obtained from digital materials from a confidential informant; it was determined that the suspects captured in the operations conducted in Istanbul, Ankara, Diyarbakır, Balıkesir, Bilecik, Bursa, Erzincan, Hatay, Izmir, Kayseri, Kütahya, Manisa, Muğla, Sivas, Şanlıurfa, and Rize were users of the organization's secret communication program ByLock, had records in companies linked to the organization, operated at a responsible level within the organization's 'Police secret structure,' acted according to the hierarchy within the secret structure created by the organization, conducted organizational meetings with police personnel responsible for various duties and qualifications, coded police personnel with codes created by the organization, planned various activities related to police personnel they tried to recruit into the organization, and monitored police personnel down to their family, assignment, and health conditions."
