The candidate for the CHP's presidential primary, Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, continues his election campaign while Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş made a noteworthy statement that is expected to attract a lot of attention.
With only a few days left until the preliminary election, Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu announced his candidacy by saying, "I am starting my journey with the claim of being a candidate first, and then a President." İmamoğlu, who quickly took action, kicked off the election campaign. While the echoes of his statements in İzmir continue, Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş made a noteworthy statement.
CRITICIZED İMAMOĞLU WITHOUT NAMING HIM
Yavaş, who said, "We have stayed out of political discussions and will continue to do so," referred to İmamoğlu, who has launched the election campaign. Stating that there are at least 2.5-3 years until the presidential election, Yavaş said, "First and foremost, we will continue to serve the people of Ankara. Therefore, we are not in a position to disrupt the services here for a presidential election that is not yet scheduled."
SIGNAL OF CANDIDACY
Continuing his remarks, Yavaş stated that he would run for candidacy if the appropriate conditions arise, saying, "When the time comes, we will assess the environment, look at the conditions of Turkey on that day, and if necessary, we will share our opinion on this matter with the entire Turkish public. Our priority is Ankara, our priority is the welfare of the people living in Ankara."
