Mansur Yavaş: The payment made to Ebru Gündeş and her team for the stamp fee is 4 million 750 thousand TL.

The Mayor of Ankara, Mansur Yavaş, who sparked a major controversy with the claim that he paid 69 million TL for the Ebru Gündeş concert, held a press conference to detail the amounts paid item by item. Yavaş stated, "The fee paid to Ebru Gündeş and her team is 4 million 750 thousand TL. The total cost of the two-day concert organization is 44.9 million TL." He also mentioned that a total of 30 million TL was paid to the artists during the concerts of Gülşen, Murat Boz, and Mor ve Ötesi, which took place on May 17, 18, and 19.

The claim that Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş spent 69 million TL for the October 29 events has caused a significant stir in Turkey's agenda.

In response to these allegations, Mansur Yavaş is making a statement regarding the issue: "I apologize to the entire country and the people of Ankara for the discussion that took place in our municipal council four days ago. It was a discussion that should not have happened because we promised to serve Ankara together without making a distinction between the ruling and opposition parties after March 31."

"THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED"

The submitted question proposal led to an unwanted discussion due to reasons such as answers or perhaps misunderstandings. This should not have happened. As the mayor, we will continue to work focused solely on serving the people of Ankara by bringing together the group vice presidents and provincial heads in the council. As you know, certain allegations have been made. The way these allegations were made is also very striking. Some individuals within the municipality leaked incorrect information for certain purposes.

Dear fellow citizens, as you know, certain allegations have been made. The manner in which they were raised is also very interesting. They leaked incorrect information. Perhaps while we could have obtained information, they started to serve that the Ankara Municipality paid 69 million. As soon as we heard this news, we began to investigate.

At the forefront of the criticisms was the explanation made on television; why was there a 10-day wait? It was reported that it fell on the night of October 30, an inspection order was given on November 1, and an inspector was assigned on November 4. The file is being examined, and on the 5th, an explanation is requested from the Department of Culture and Social Affairs. To check whether the explanation is correct, it is asked from the Building Control. A market survey is requested for the sound, stage setup, and technical specifications of the stage.

"WE ARE SCRUTINIZING EVERYTHING"

Then, letters were sent to 6 firms. Only one response came from the 6 firms. Since it was reported that a report would be given on November 11, we decided to hold a meeting today. For the past 10 days, we have been scrutinizing all the files. Even my plane tickets, I cover myself even if I go on an official duty. This is to ensure that it also reflects on my colleagues who work with me. I have received criticisms about not doing much advertising. I was elected in 2019 by receiving the vote of one of two people from Ankara. We have served for five years. At the end of March this year, I was elected by receiving the votes of almost two out of three people from Ankara.

The reason for this election result is not to waste, not to live a lavish life. To work in a way that deserves the salary we receive. We did not enter into any advertising. We did not take a single penny in allowances. I cover my plane tickets entirely myself so that my staff knows that they receive their salaries from the people of Ankara and act with this awareness. We have posted the costs of the work done on walls and bridges. We know that the biggest problem among the economic difficulties in Turkey stems from corruption, waste, and extravagance. For 5 years, we have live-streamed the tenders, and we continue to do so.

RESPONSE TO METRO CRITICISMS

Responding to the criticisms of "He never built a metro," Yavaş stated: "The Mamak metro will start receiving bids on November 22. There is a one-month evaluation period on November 22. After the evaluation is completed, if the lending institution gives approval, we will lay the foundation here. We also have a project regarding the Dikmen Metro. The projects for 4 metro lines and their extensions are almost finished. After the Ministry of Transport gives approval, we will also take action for their construction.

COST OF CONCERTS

On October 28-29, we were attacked because of some artists. This concert was contracted for the first time, and I canceled it due to the TUSAŞ attack. There was a lot of pressure saying that a state cannot do this in the face of terrorism. We continued under pressure, and not all the work on the contract could be completed. The two main concerts, sound stage light main stage LED screen production decor cost 31 million 680 thousand lira. The other service items of the concert, including what was paid to Ebru Gündeş and her team, amounted to 13 million 250 thousand lira. The fee for Ebru Gündeş is known. 4 million 750 thousand lira was paid to Gündeş and her team.

30 MILLION TL FOR GÜLŞEN AND MURAT BOZ

Additionally, Yavaş stated that a total of 30 million lira was paid to artists during the concerts of Gülşen, Murat Boz, and Mor ve Ötesi held on May 17-18-19.

"I SAY BRING IT ON"

ABB President Mansur Yavaş stated, "The Ministry of Culture spent 800 million lira for the 'Cultural Route Festival.' We spent 810 million lira in 67 months. I do not expect any apologies from those who make these claims. I say bring it on."
