In the quarter-finals of the Ziraat Turkey Cup, Fenerbahçe, hosting Galatasaray, reduced the deficit to 1 with a goal from Sebastian Szymanski at the end of the first half after being 2-0 down in the crucial match. This goal by the Polish star, which was validated after a 2-minute review, also brought along offside discussions.

FIRST, AN OFFSIDE DECISION WAS MADE

Szymanski completed the ball that was heading towards the goal from Anderson Talisca's shot in the 45+1 minute of the match. Referee Cihan Aydın canceled the goal on the grounds of offside after receiving a warning from his assistant. After approximately two minutes of VAR review, Aydın awarded the goal.
