The unfortunate work accident that occurred in the Zile district of Tokat broke hearts. 19-year-old Yusuf Poyraz, who was trapped between a massive pipe and a truck trailer due to the explosion of a hydraulic hose on the work machine, lost his battle for life despite all interventions at the hospital he was taken to.
The tragic incident that occurred yesterday evening in the Reşadiye village of Tokat's Zile district has once again painfully highlighted the importance of occupational safety and how deadly workplace hazards can be.
HYDRAULIC PIPE BURST, MOMENTS OF HORROR
According to the information obtained, the incident began when the hydraulic pipe of a work machine actively used in the field suddenly burst for an as yet undetermined reason. With the violent impact of the explosion, the heavy and massive glass-reinforced polyethylene pipe located at the front of the work machine became uncontrolled and started rolling.
TRAPPED BETWEEN TRUCK TRAILER AND PIPE
At that moment, 19-year-old Yusuf Poyraz, who was working in the area, had no chance to escape from the huge pipe hurtling toward him. The young worker was horribly trapped between the rolling pipe and the trailer of a parked truck. Other workers who witnessed the horrifying moments immediately reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, gendarmerie and medical teams were swiftly dispatched to the scene.
LOST HIS LIFE STRUGGLE AT THE HOSPITAL
The medical teams arriving at the scene extracted the seriously injured young worker from where he was trapped and provided first aid at the site. Yusuf Poyraz, in critical condition, was rushed by ambulance to Zile State Hospital without delay. However, despite all medical interventions by the doctors, the unfortunate young man could not be saved and passed away.
GENDARMERIE LAUNCHED EXTENSIVE INVESTIGATION
The tragic death of the young man plunged his family, loved ones, and colleagues into deep mourning. While extensive security measures were taken at the accident scene, gendarmerie teams launched a detailed investigation to determine whether any negligence was involved in the incident.
