In Ankara, mine workers who ended their 17-day action after resolving a receivables dispute with their company paid a thank-you visit to Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi for his contributions to the process.
In Ankara, after resolving the payment dispute with their company, the workers' delegation led by Independent Mine Workers' Union President Gökay Çakır, who ended their 17-day protest, announced that they terminated their protest and strike upon receiving their rights, and then arrived at the Ministry of Interior.
"MAY YOUR PATH BE CLEAR"
The mine workers, received by Minister Çiftçi, thanked Çiftçi for his contributions to resolving the process.
Interior Minister Çiftçi said, "May it be auspicious. You are now ending the protest and returning to your hometown. May your path be clear. Hopefully, such scenes will not occur again."
Union President Çakır, speaking at the reception, stated that Çiftçi's intervention in ending the protest peacefully and through compromise was very valuable for them, saying, "Thanks for your efforts and hearts. Thank you very much for everything."
At the end of the visit, the workers presented flowers to Interior Minister Çiftçi. Workers Abdullah Kara, Özcan Gültekin, and Sinan Koçak also attended the reception.
