The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, stated that hundreds of thousands of people visited historical and tourist sites during the holiday. Minister Ersoy also emphasized the contribution of the holiday to the tourism sector.

In a statement on his social media account, Minister Ersoy announced that the total number of visitors during the 9-day holiday reached 1 million 50 thousand 215.



Minister Ersoy's post is as follows:



We exceeded 1 million in 9 days! The great interest in our museums and archaeological sites during the holiday is the best indication of the value given to our cultural heritage. In just 9 days, 1 million 50 thousand 215 visitors explored our museums and archaeological sites.



The top 15 most visited museums attracted a total of 584 thousand 380 visitors.

According to the data from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, during the Ramadan Bayram holiday from March 29 to April 6, the İzmir Ephesus Archaeological Site was the most visited spot with 81 thousand 264 visitors. It was followed by Göbeklitepe with 71 thousand 388 visitors and Hierapolis (Pamukkale) Archaeological Site with 64 thousand 21 visitors.
