Gürlek emphasized that an investigation has been initiated ex officio by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and stated that the judicial authorities are conducting the process meticulously. Minister Gürlek highlighted that the state will never compromise on the principle of the rule of law.

Following the initiation of an ex officio investigation against the individual who stated he was a Public Prosecutor and made threats such as 'I will kill you, bigot, let's see how you survive in Turkey from now on' towards one of the passengers, Justice Minister Akın Gürlek shared a post on his social media account.

In his post, Minister Gürlek stated, "I thank our Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which is conducting the process, and our law enforcement agencies that carry out their duties meticulously, and I reiterate that we will not compromise on the principle of the rule of law."

In the statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was determined that the individual identified as Y.S. had dropped out of the Justice Vocational School and still had an active student registration in the Open and Distance Education Faculty's Medical Documentation and Secretarial department.

It was reported that after the incident that occurred in the public transportation vehicle, the suspect was captured and detained for the crime of "inciting or humiliating the public to hatred and hostility."
