The Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek, made a statement regarding inflation expectations. Emphasizing that the disinflation process is ongoing, Şimşek stated, "We anticipate that inflation will occur within the Central Bank of Turkey's forecast range by the end of the year."
The Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek, made evaluations regarding the inflation expectation report announced by the Central Bank.
Şimşek continued his statement as follows: Although there was a limited increase in inflation expectations compared to the previous month, a significant improvement occurred on an annual basis. The inflation expectation for 12 months later decreased by 17 points among households, 15 points in the real sector, and 10 points among market participants.
"INFLATION WILL OCCUR WITHIN THE CENTRAL BANK'S FORECAST RANGE"
All necessary steps are being taken to limit the reflections of recent domestic and global developments on our economy. In addition to the strengthened macroeconomic fundamentals thanks to the program we have implemented, tightening financial conditions and the decline in commodity prices will support the disinflation process. We anticipate that inflation will occur within the Central Bank's forecast range by the end of the year.
