While claims that the schools will close early by combining the Eid al-Adha holiday with the summer vacation confuse students and parents, Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin provided a clear statement on the matter. Speaking live on TRT News, Minister Tekin stated that they do not have the issue of bringing the vacation forward on their agenda.
"EARLY VACATION IS NOT LEGALLY POSSIBLE"
Emphasizing that this is not legally possible, Minister Tekin used the following expressions: "No, this is not legally possible. Our schools need to be open for 180 working days. Now, those who do not know say this. They say to have an early vacation and also bring the start of schools forward. But that is different. That is the calculation for the next year. That is the calculation for the 180 days of the next year. We need to complete the 180 days of this year in some way. Legally, this is not possible. We do not have such a plan."
