The Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Kurum, announced that after the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Istanbul on April 23, 25,017 buildings were inspected, and 2,928 of these buildings were identified as having minor damage.

APPROXIMATELY 3 THOUSAND BUILDINGS WITH MINOR DAMAGE
Minister Kurum reported that damage assessment works related to the earthquake are ongoing throughout the megacity, and so far, 25 thousand 17 buildings have been inspected. He stated that 22 thousand 89 of these buildings were found to be undamaged and 2 thousand 928 buildings were identified as having minor damage, saying, "We will complete the damage assessment works as soon as possible."
"OWNERS OF MINOR DAMAGE HOUSES WILL ALSO BENEFIT"
In a recent television program, Minister Kurum stated regarding the earthquake, "We will include all our citizens who have sustained minor damage in the 'Half is Ours' campaign after the 6.2 earthquake. If our citizens agree, we will include them in this transformation process. If they wish, we will also carry out the construction process with TOKİ on a block basis. All citizens who think their building is at risk and want to transform can apply to our ministry's relevant units through Alo 181 regarding urban transformation." he had stated.
DISTRICTS WITH THE MOST DAMAGE REPORTS FROM THE EARTHQUAKE
Minister Kurum announced that the districts with the most damage reports from the earthquake were Bahçelievler, Esenler, Bağcılar, Zeytinburnu, and Avcılar in that order. While a significant portion of the buildings in these districts sustained damage, it was stated that the transformation process would be accelerated in areas where the effects of the earthquake were intense.
445 AFTERSHOCKS EXPERIENCED
The Kandilli Observatory announced in its information note regarding the 6.2 earthquake that the number of aftershocks had reached 445 by April 26. The statement noted that the aftershocks were generally concentrated within an area of 15-20 kilometers between the Middle Marmara and Kumburgaz segments. It was emphasized that aftershocks would continue for a while in the coming days, and warnings were made to heed the statements of the relevant authorities and not to enter risky buildings.
