Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu, providing information on the latest status of Turkish-owned vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf, stated, "As of June 26, 2026, all of our ships waiting in the region have safely exited." Minister Uraloglu also added that there were currently no vessels requesting an immediate departure from the Persian Gulf.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu provided information on the latest status of Turkish-owned ships in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf via his social media account.
"15 OF OUR SHIPS HAVE SAFELY LEFT THE PERSIAN GULF"
Uraloğlu stated that they have been closely monitoring developments in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf from the very first moment, saying, "We are acting in coordination with all relevant institutions. As of June 26, 2026, all of our ships waiting in the region have safely exited."
Uraloğlu reported that a total of 15 ships have safely left the region, adding that 3 Turkish-owned ships in the area did not request departure as they continue their commercial activities within the Gulf.
"WE HAVE NO SHIPS WITH AN IMMEDIATE REQUEST TO DEPART"
Emphasizing that there are a total of 99 Turkish personnel on the waiting ships, Uraloğlu noted: "We have no ships with an immediate request to depart from the Persian Gulf. We continue to closely monitor the process with sensitivity for the safety of our citizens and seafarers."
REOPENED AFTER HISTORIC AGREEMENT
Iran had closed the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic transit point for global energy trade, following the war that began with the US-Israeli attacks on February 28. Under the agreement reached between Iran and the US on June 14, Tehran reopened the Strait of Hormuz.
