The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, provided information about the work they are doing regarding social media in collaboration with officials from the Ministry of Family and Social Services. Uraloğlu stated that the social media regulation will be completed within this year and mentioned that the aim is to require parental consent for social media use for those aged 13 to 16, while prohibiting access for those under 13 years old.
The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, announced that the regulation regarding age restrictions on social media will be implemented within this year.
Minister Uraloğlu made statements regarding the age restriction regulation on social media, which has been a topic of discussion for some time. He stated that work on the social media bill is ongoing and expressed that the regulation will come into effect this year.
FOUR MINISTRIES ARE WORKING ON THE REGULATION
Uraloğlu mentioned that they are evaluating the age restriction on social media primarily with the Ministry of Family and Social Services, and generally with the Ministries of Interior and Justice.
HE GAVE A TIMELINE
Uraloğlu, who stated that they met with officials from the Ministry of Family and Social Services, said they have prepared a roadmap. He mentioned that they reached a consensus that social media usage for those aged 13-16 should require parental consent, and that those under 13 should not be allowed. Minister Uraloğlu said, "We will bring this to life and present it to the discretion of our Parliament, and it will be brought forward by our AK Party group. We will have such a regulation in place within this year."
