Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu announced that physical progress in the Antalya-Alanya Highway Project has reached 30%. When the 122-kilometer highway is put into service, the current 2.5-hour travel time will decrease to 36 minutes, providing annual savings of 23.9 billion liras in time and fuel.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that physical progress in the Antalya-Alanya Motorway Project, which is of critical importance for regional tourism and transportation, has reached 30 percent. When the project is completed, the travel time of 2.5 hours will decrease to 36 minutes, providing annual savings of 23.9 billion liras.

Work continues uninterrupted on the Antalya-Alanya Motorway Project, initiated to ease the heavy vehicle traffic in the region and accelerate access to tourism centers. Sharing details on the latest situation on site, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that the motorway will address the increasing transportation demand between Antalya and Alanya.

GIANT 122-KILOMETER ROUTE

Referring to the technical details of the project, Minister Uraloğlu stated that the motorway is designed with a total length of 122 kilometers, including 84 kilometers of main body and 38 kilometers of connection roads. Emphasizing that the route will start at Serik Junction and end at Alanya West Junction, Uraloğlu provided the following information:

  • Lane Structure: The main body is being built with 3 lanes in each direction, and the connection roads with a total of 4 lanes.
  • Junctions: There will be 7 junctions in total: Serik, Taşağıl, Manavgat, Manavgat East, Alarahan, Konaklı, and Alanya West.
  • Tunnels and Viaducts: The project includes 5 tunnels totaling 4,365 meters in length and 16 viaducts totaling 5,966 meters in length.

Noting that engineering works on site are progressing rapidly, Minister Uraloğlu stated that excavation and support works in 2 tunnels have been completed and final concrete production has begun. Uraloğlu reported that work continues in 15 of the 16 viaducts, and manufacturing is ongoing in 14 underpasses, 5 overpasses, 6 bridges, and 47 culverts.
