Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on his official social media account that accounts making provocative posts regarding operations against the ISIS terrorist organization in Yalova have been identified and that 16 individuals have been apprehended.
"16 INDIVIDUALS WHO MADE PROVOCATIVE POSTS HAVE BEEN ARRESTED"
Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated: "16 individuals who made provocative posts on social media regarding the operation against the ISIS terrorist organization in Yalova yesterday have been arrested.
Unverified, manipulative, negative, and false posts on social media are aimed at producing disinformation. Our Cyber Crime Department and Security Department are continuing their work against those who publish such provocative content. We kindly ask our citizens to rely only on information provided by official sources."
WHAT HAPPENED?
On December 29, an operation was carried out by security teams against the ISIS terrorist organization at a house on the road to Elmalık village, affiliated with the center in Yalova. During the operation, our police officers İlker Pehlivan, Turgut Külünk, and Yasin Koçyiğit were martyred as a result of gunfire opened by ISIS terrorists. In the attack, 8 police officers and 1 guard were also injured. While 5 women and 6 children present at the address were evacuated safely, 6 terrorists were captured dead in the conflict.
